How to receive Dolby CP950 processors’ AES67 streams on DIGISYN devices?

By analyzing packet captures of the Dolby CP950 cinema processor using Wireshark, we concluded that the Dolby Atmos connection transport protocol (Dolby AES67 protocol) does not employ discovery mechanisms such as SAP or mDNS.

Therefore, the following configurations are required:

The CP950 > DMX208A configuration can function properly by:

  1. Enabling Advanced Mode
  2. Setting a local static IP address
  3. Configuring the PTP Domain to 0

In addition to the IP address, keep all other settings at their default values.

The Dolby CP950 > DMX208A configuration operates correctly under the following settings:
We configure the Dolby CP950 in Advanced Mode.

Using the Rav2Sap software, we generate a Session Announcement Protocol (SAP) advertisement packet by clicking the [SDP] button.

After performing these operations, we observed the Session Announcement Protocol (SAP) information in DIGISYN LINK3, confirming the successful creation of the multicast session.

Once the necessary routing configurations were applied, the DMX208A correctly played the multicast stream from the Dolby CP950.
